I opted for the regular plex reticle, as my guns shoot pretty flat for the distances I hunt. I hunt with guys that are colored ring scope believers and my Burris gives as clear and sharp an image as any of their scopes that cost twice as much. I love my scope so much, I just bought two more identical E1 x40 so I could mount them up and leave them.
Burris scope with Burris rings on the guns I depend on. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by Stefano from first rate 20X scope Here is a photo of the scope mounted on a 6mm Ackely Improved. A worthy addition to Burris mounting hardware would be extension Signature Ring-mounts for Ruger M77 actions.
I used whatever what would work best and that unfortunately was not Burris. Signature mounts having the inserts are probably the best mount system available for most standard rifles. I zeroed the rifle in at yards using the 3rd bar down or the yard hash mark. At yards I was about 1 inch high and at yards 2 inches.
My load was a 87 Vmax at fps. I was easily able to see the black steel target that was partially covered by dried mud and dust. I used it for 2 years in all conditions. Up in the fog it tends to lag behind some of the higher end scopes for moisture resistance.
Then again that can easily be fixed by a hydrophobic coating. The one true gripe I have is the reticle is a little thin. In low light and in the timber its really hard to locate. If It was similar to the veracity I would be much happier. This is only a problem for people on the west coast timber hunters.
Roughly 1 month ago I fell down a embankment and totaled the scope so we will see how the forever warranty experience is. I'll update with a time line. My Longest Deer shot thus far is just under yards and I would not have been comfortable doing this shot without the reticle this scope features and knowing my trajectory data for my loads. Excellent clarity and repeatability for this optic every time. I hunt hard and don't use cheap stuff because it just cant handle the weather and normal use I give the equipment so this is a 10 in my book.

The glass is clear from edge to edge. The focus adjustment doesn't require turning the whole eye piece. And like every Burris I've ever owned, I've never had to re-zero from year to year.
They always stay zeroed. There is no better scope for twice the money, and very few better at three times the price. Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 by padipete from Horrible Performance Wish I could have given a lower rating. I've sent this scope in twice, but it has come back twice telling me that there is nothing wrong with the scope.
The previous scope that I had on this. No matter how much I adjusted windage and elevation with this Burris scope, I could not get point of impact to change to center. When optically bore sighting, point of impact was 14 inches high and 10 inches left at 25 yards.
I was told that I might need to buy Burris mounts. I won't spend any more money on this scope. Perhaps it would work well as a light weight hammer. Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Bob94 from Great scope. So far,so good! Seems to be better quality compared to the Fullfield II.
I've had a couple of Fullfield II 5 years ago and had to send them back because both couldn't stay zeroed in somehow. I've decided to give Burris another chance and the E1 impressed me. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I would have liked the "etched in reticle" to be a tad bigger. My old eyes are not as sharp as they used to be.
